I’m Anne Ashman, Founder and Managing Director of AA Compliance Compass Ltd.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked within the highways and construction industry, leading an Intelligent Transport Systems company supplying products and services to some of the UK’s largest Tier 1 contractors, local authorities and government organisations.

Throughout my career, I’ve never believed in simply doing the job. I’ve always believed in understanding why things are done, gaining recognised qualifications, and continually developing my knowledge so I can deliver the very best results.

Today, that experience is backed by professional qualifications in quality management, auditing, transport, health and safety, business management and compliance, alongside years of practical, hands-on experience.

My career didn’t begin in construction. Before moving into the sector, I spent five years working in procurement and commercial roles, giving me an excellent understanding of purchasing, contracts and supplier management. Before that, I was self-employed for over 20 years, so I understand first-hand the pressures of running a business, managing finances, meeting HMRC requirements, keeping customers happy and balancing compliance with commercial success.

During my time in industry, I worked with many of the UK’s leading contractors and public sector organisations. I was heavily involved in tender submissions, accreditation processes, compliance management and business improvement. Working closely with sales and marketing teams, I helped position the business as one that clients wanted to work with by promoting quality, safety, sustainability and professionalism throughout everything we did.

Those standards weren’t just words on a policy—they became part of the company culture. Every member of the team understood the importance of delivering quality work, operating safely and continually improving. That commitment helped secure major contracts across the UK and build long-term relationships with clients.

Now I’ve established AA Compliance Compass Ltd to bring that same knowledge, experience and practical support to micro businesses, SMEs and start-ups.

My aim is simple: to remove the confusion from compliance.
